  • Glowing Skin Juice

    Glowing Skin JuiceIngredients:

    • 2 cucumbers (peeled)
    • 5 sprigs of fresh basil
    • 2 mint leaves
    • 2 grapefruits (juiced)
    • 1 cup of filtered cold water
    • 1 tbsp. coconut sugar
    • 1/4 rockmelon, chopped


    1. Combine and process all ingredients a food processor. Blend until completely smooth.
    2. Place a mesh strainer over a medium-sized bowl.
    3. Pour the juice mixture over the strainer into the bowl.
    4. Once finished, either serve immediately or refrigerate.
    5. Garnish with fresh mint.


  • Summer Glow Smoothie

    Summer Glow Smoothie
    Makes 3½ cups


    • 1 cup coconut milk
    • 1 banana, peeled, sliced, and frozen
    • 1 mango, skinned and chunked
    • 5 large strawberries, hulled
    • Coconut flakes and/or chia seeds


    1. Remove banana from freezer, peel and carefully slice into medium pieces.

    2. Carefully skin mango and chop into chunks, disposing of the pip in the compost.

    3. Hull strawberries and set aside.

    4. Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix well.

    5. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and sprinkle with chia seeds or coconut flakes.


  • Clear Skin Breakfast Smoothie

    Clear Skin Breakfast Smoothie

    1/2 banana
    1 cup mixed berries
    1/4 oats or oatmeal
    1 scoop protein powder (optional)
 1 cup rice or almond milk
    1 tbsp chia seeds
    4 almonds
    1 tsp coconut oil


    1. Peel and chop banana.

    2. Place all ingredients in the blender and combine until smooth.

    3. Top with fresh berries, chopped nuts and a sprinkle of desiccated coconut (optional.)

    TIP: If you are trying to cure your hormonal acne naturally, try adding 1-2 tsp of maca powder to this recipe!

    I’m a huge advocate of incorporating juices and smoothies into our daily diets. When juices and smoothies are used in the right way, they can have dramatic effects on our skin. Juices and smoothies contain powerful ingredients that can help to:

    Juices and smoothies offer a natural approach to reducing acne using acne reducing ingredients like spinach, carrot and ginger. Each fruit and vegetable has a different nutritional profile offering a powerhouse of nutrients to fix your skin.

    Your skin is a reflection of what’s happening internally in your body. So if you’re healthy and clean on the inside, your skin will be clear and glowing on the outside. Check out this ultimate acne clearing green juice recipe below!

    TIP: Remember to SIP your green juice slowly so that the nutrients can be absorbed into your body slowly. Drink lots of water during and after so that your body can effectively process toxins form your body and you will avoid feeling sick in the tummy!


    • 4 celery stalks
    • 1 bunch parsley
    • 2 handfuls spinach
    • 2 carrots
    • 1 apple
    • 1 beet
    • 1/2 handful kale
    • Lemon and ginger to taste


    1. Prepare your vegetables. Rinse thoroughly with water and cut into chunks.

    2. Mix in a blender or put through juicer until smooth.

    3. Serve with fresh mint or a slice of apple.

    Gluten Free Gingerbread Smoothie
    With the Christmas season coming up, it can be hard to make healthy food choices when there is so much processed and fatty food everywhere you look!

    I absolutely love this Gluten Free Gingerbread Smoothie which is perfect for the holiday season and great for your skin too.


    • 1 large banana
    • 2 tbsp vanilla protein powder
    • 1.5 cups oat or rice milk
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract (organic)
    • 1/2 tsp ceylon cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
    • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
    • 1 tbsp honey
    • 1 tbsp chia seeds (for thickness)
    • A dash of nutmeg


    1. Place all ingredients into a blender or food processor and combine until smooth and creamy.
    2. Top with a dash of cinnamon.

    How To Make Smoothie Packs
    You have heard of meal prep right? Cooking up a big batch of veggies and protein at the start of the week and freezing it, well you can do the same prep for your smoothies!  Take the hassle out of making smoothies by preparing your own DIY smoothie packs and storing them in the freezer. It will also make great use of fruit that is becoming too ripe.

    1. Plan Your Fruits and Vegetables

    Make some time to write a list of in-season fruit and vegetables you will be including in your meals and beverages for the following week. Be sure to include extra for smoothies and feel free to shop smart too! If there are some fruits that are on special, these are perfect for making smoothies and will stay fresh as they will be frozen straight away. TIP: Remember to buy some freezer bags to store your ingredients in for later!

    2. Prepare Your Ingredients

    Before any chopping is done, it’s really important to wash all your fruit and vegetables thoroughly – even if they are organic! If you are using a regular blender, be sure to chop into smaller pieces for easy blending. Chop all your favourite fruits and vegetables and mix together in separate bags. Be sure to experiment a bit to include a wide variety of ingredients and multiple colours – you want to eat the rainbow!

    3. Label Your Smoothie Packs

    Label your smoothies with the date it was packaged and be creative with your smoothie names! Store in the freezer, keeping in mind you won’t need to add ice when it’s time to blend because all the ingredients are already frozen!

    4. It’s Time to Blend!

    Now comes the fun part! Take your choice of smoothie pack out of the freezer and pop into your blender. Add a liquid base of choice – almond milk, rice milk, oat milk, coconut water and blend until smooth.

    How To Make An Acai Smoothie Bowl
    So, you’ve seen all those amazing photos of Acai Smoothie Bowls online but have no idea how to make them? Today I’ll show you how!

    What is an Acai Bowl?

    Essentially, an acai bowl is similar to a smoothie because it is made in the same way but blended until it’s the consistency of ice-cream. An Acai Bowl is served in a bowl and then topped with all your favourite fruits, seeds and nuts. The consistency of an Acai Bowl should be thick and creamy and eaten with a spoon.

    How To Make An Acai Smoothie Bowl

    Prep Time 5 mins
    Cook Time 1 min
    Total Time 6 mins


    • 2 packs Frozen Acai
    • 1 Frozen Banana
    • 1 scoop Protein Powder optional
    • 1 splash Dairy Free Milk almond, coconut, rice
    • 1/4 cup Frozen Berries


    • Add all of the ingredients except for the milk into a blender of food processor
    • Blend your acai smoothie
    • Add liquid very slowly, adding more until desired consistency is reached
    • Once your smoothie base is the desired ice cream consistency, simply spoon the mixture into your bowl of choice 
    • Use a chilled bowl to prevent the smoothie melting too much when you are eating it
    • Top with your favourite toppings. See tips below!

    TIP: Now it’s time for the fun part. Adding all your favourite toppings.

    Be creative. Think fresh fruit, nuts and seeds. You can even do an organic gluten-free granola layer and top with coconut flakes!

    Some ideas are: nuts, cacao nibs, a splash of coconut milk, coconut flakes, fresh berries, sliced fresh banana, chopped nuts and chia seeds.
